The Amberhof is located 35 km north of Regensburg, not far from the A 93 Schwarzenfeld motorway exit.
On a five-hectare site, the modern riding centre offers ideal conditions for the training and sporting development of 25 dressage horses.
Our facilities
Christian Lanterdinger is responsible for the education and training of the horses at The Amberhof. He holds the golden riding badge, was a finalist at the German National Championships and has represented his home country of Austria at the World Championships for young dressage horses. He himself successfully rides internationally up to Grand Prix level and has already brought many young horses into top sport.
At The Amberhof, we pursue the concept of holistic care for the dressage horses entrusted to us.
Parallel to the dressage stable, we offer rehabilitation of sport horses through aquatherapy. This training method is a unique opportunity to move injured horses in a controlled manner and also to utilise them psychologically. Aquatherapy is muscularly demanding, but gentle.
At the same time, the cool water provides natural buoyancy, which is easy on the eyes, joints and ligaments during exercise.
Aquatherapy is also a very efficient training method for strengthening the back muscles and optimising the movement sequence. The counter-pressure of the water causes more activity from the hindquarters, which tightens the horse’s abdominal muscles and significantly improves the use of the back muscles, combined with more shoulder freedom.
In addition to aquatherapy, further services can be booked from external partners for the rehabilitation of your horse in the fields of chiropractic, physiotherapy, orthopaedic farriery and dentistry.
In close consultation with the horse owner, the rider and the attending vets, we will draw up a personalised treatment and training plan for your horse.
The duration of your stay at The Amberhof depends on your personal requirements and the recovery process of the horse entrusted to us.
Our own horses also regularly enjoy the varied training in the water.
Every year we offer a small, exclusive selection of foals and dressage prospects from our own breeding programme.
When mating, we place particular emphasis on the demands of modern sport horse breeding and on proven mare lines with performance genes. The pedigrees of our broodmares include Grand Prix stallions up to the fourth generation.
Licensed stallions, participants to the German and World Championships as well as numerous auction and show horses at national and international level come from the lines of our mares.
Those who work alone add – those who work together multiply.
